I've managed to rationalize new springs+struts.
I've got a dip in my driveway that if I hit even *slightly* above a snail's pace I can make the front end bottom hard.

One or both of the following are true:
-My struts (either Eibachs or OEM SVT - 59k mi) are worn out
-The Eibach Prokit springs don't increase the spring rate enough for a 1.5in drop over stock:
Stock F/R: 129/157
Eibach: 137/171

Found a killer deal on some barely used Intrax springs - 1.5in drop, progressive rate F/R - 225-275/275-325

I'm getting some KYB AGX's to go with them (can't justify Koni$).

I don't have any solid surface to work on - anyone want to help/let me use some garage space for beer+pizza?

Both should ship out this week - I hope to get them in before the practice day on the 18th.

Thanks!

What!? You gonna cover these springs and struts then?

I'll drive *really* fast out of the driveway on Thurs

A few things. First if you were closer I'd be glad to help. Changing springs and struts ain't rocket science and it doesn't take too long. Second while AGX's are cheaper they ride like a brick. Even on full soft they are pretty darn stiff. Last, lowering springs are pretty much for looks. Until you go to coil-overs you won't get a whole lot of benefit.

How do I know? I've been there done that on all three points.

Thanks for the offer. People on the Focus forums seem to really like the AGX's (and dial them soft for daily driving, stiffen the fronts a little and the rears alot for AX). I'm giving up street comfort with the springs now anyways, so hopefully the stiffer damping will fit with the stiffer springs.
I'm not dropping the car any lower with the new springs.

I do intend to get coilovers eventually - in a year or two when I can actually drive to the limits of the car consistently.

I'll do another track day once they're in and you can get a before+after test :)

I'm in Vass, south of Sanford. I already know I'll have to make a bit of a drive to wherever.
I only have sand/gravel surfaces to work on at home - not too bad for changing a wheel, but I don't feel comfortable cranking on the car to get the suspension changed out.

I've also expanded the project to include Energy Suspension inserts for the rear motor/tranny mount, and a rear strut brace.

So now it's *premium* beer + *deluxe* pizza to anyone who can help

I have some space in Apex you may be able to use. How long do you need to keep the car there?

Just a day - It looks like a project that should be doable in 8hrs even if I'm by myself. Only potential concern is undoing bolts - I'll spray the fasteners a few times leading up to the work.

Thanks!

Depending on when you need to do it I can provide space and all equipment(Near Wake tech). I have a garage and every tool but a lift(Lots of jacks and stands instead).

Great - thanks Chuck!

Let me get all my shipping confirmations so I know when to expect the stuff and I'll let you know.
