Several months ago, I posted that my fan blade grenaded. Well, for the past coupld weeks, the car has been getting louder and over the last few days, it was sounding like the serpentine belt was loose. I finally checked last night and the top was almost rubbed through. I expected to find a rock or something stuck to one fo the pulleys or tensioners, but all was clean.

I finally found a piece of fan blade that was getting in the way. It was lodged near the ac compressor and was rubbing the top of the belt. How it stayed there, who knows. Now that it's out, the car is sooo quiet.

I found on BimmerForums that a lot of folks are replacing their tensioners and pulleys, just as a preventative measure. Anyone have opinions? I hate to just replace parts, but I don't want to be left stranded either.

My car started sounding like a turkey gobbling. I wasn't sure if it was the tensioner or the idler pulley. It ended up being the idler pulley
