Posting this for a friend:

Quote:
My 540 seems to have picked up a stutter or choppy hesitation at
low RPM's when I first get into the gas and the motor gets under a slight
load. Once the RPM's pick up, it pulls thru. I took out the MAF and
cleaned it, also fixed a vacuum leak / broken vacuum hose and cleaned out
the throttle body. But the stutter still seems to be apparent, but
perhaps not as strong. Any ideas?

Yup, I agree. I talking w/ Dave Davis, if the car is anywhere close to a 100k in miles, this is one of the soft spots on the V-8. Cheap parts, labor intensive....

bimmerforums search will probably give the same solutions, but have him search or post there. Collectively they've got the answers to most problems.
