Just putting the the 4AGE engine together and can't remember which way the rear engine seal goes in!! Does the flush side face the engine, or does it face the clutch. Shop manual doesn't show clear picture and doesn't mention which way it goes in. Help!!

Dunno about the 4AGE, but every other engine I've seen, the rear main goes with the flush side out- towards the clutch. The "lipped" side goes in towards the crankcase.

Thanks Bret, thats what I thought. But I needed reenforcement. Couldn't find it in the manuals.
