i'm hopiing someone here has some experience with this and can tell me how to get the connecting rod bushings out of the connecting rods so i can put the new ones in. i'm prety much stuck until i can figure this out so i appriciate any help.

Are you talking about the metal bearings?

All the ones I've seen (admittedly not that many) have been basically just been sitting there, with almost nothing holding them in place except for some capillary action from a coating of motor oil, and maybe a detent into the rod to keep the bearing from spinning. I've never had one that I couldn't pull out just using my fingers.

Crankshaft end or piston pin (wrist pin) end?

If crankshaft (aka rod bearings), like Carl says.

If piston pin end, in my (limited) experience these bushings are pressed in to the small end of the rod and then the ID honed to the correct clearance for the wrist pin. Any decent engine machine shop can do this very inexpensively and while they are at it correct any rod twist.

thanks guys it is the " wrist pin end." i havent had any problems with the except for the fact that i only have 8 rod bearings instead of .there was no play so i decided not to replace the bushings. i would have needed a mechine shop to drill holes in the bushings.
