Ok, I'll try to give him a call before I have to do something tomorrow.

Mark might have some scrubs laying around. He can get good prices and get tires in quick. Also has the Hunter road force balancing systems and does an excellent job with mount/balance.

Sounds like a good source for tires, if he has 15s, which are scarce in the used tire market.

I do my own mounting and balancing.

Thanks,

Steve

I know i'm getting in on this thread a little late, but i've been running the Hankook R-S2 on my '93 RX7 since February. Since then i've done weekends at VIR-N, VIR-S, and Rockingham, as well as putting a total of about 4k street miles on them. I'm definately a catagory A driver since i'm pretty new to the track and just "graduated" from Green group. But they held up extremely well for me at both VIR events with a small to moderate amount of slip angle at the rear as i've been learning how to do so. They held up well this past weekend at the Rock even though you could feel the tire getting warmer and warmer after each of the 6 20-25 minute sessions every day (2 hrs and 15 minutes track time per day). They wore more at that event than both the events at VIR combined, but never chunked or got noticeably greasy even when the temps are in the high 80's at The Rock. Even so, they still have at least half tread left. I chose these tires because I couldn't get Azeni 615 in my 245/45-16 size that i needed. From what i read they are about the closest you can get as far as grip is concerned. But i am going to try the Azeni next time as i'll be using a different wheel size. If i had to take a guess, i would guess that the MX would last a little longer and the Azeni might be a bit stickier, but that the Hankook falls between both of them in each catagory. But that's just my opinion as i've never personally run either one of those tires. I soon hope to remedy that. :D

Mark might have some scrubs laying around. He can get good prices and get tires in quick.

Well I called Mark first thing this morning just for yucks. He mentioned a few used sets he had, and a couple new sets. Then I mentioned I had been planning to order Kumho ECSTA MX 205/50WR15s from TR, and he says he has a set of them that someone had ordered and never picked up and he really needed to move them. Asked what the online price was and matched it, so with sales tax it came out about the same for me and he's rid of them.

Reckon Mark owes ya a beer Graham, maybe two, or a whole six pack. Hell, beer's cheaper'n gas ain't it.

In addition, I was headed out to my buddy Hargrove's place for the Fri. Car Crazy's luncheon anyway, so I just went to Mark's first and got the tires. Then to Glenn's to pick up my wheels. Made it to Hargrove's in time for lunch and then went ahead and mounted and balanced them while I was there, so I'm way ahead of the game. ;)

Marks happy, I'm happy. Good deal.

Thanks Graham,

Steve
