What caused the hub issue? Was it the claw of the hammer, impact gun, three dudes pulling on the wheel or the final whacks of the hammer on the T-bar?

No, a rounded, unthreaded end on it that aligns the nut so as to minimize the likelihood of cross threading.

You mean like the rear lower shock bolt on Miatas? Those crossthread too. Ask me how I know that replacements cost $4.14 each with THSCC discount.

My hindsight's telling me that this wasn't the best suggestion that I've ever made.

Adam. Did you get the new hub from GM or elsewhere? What did they charge you for it?

Since you're autoxing it as much as you do and running those sticky V710s. You should consider hub/bearing assemblies disposable.

I never claimed it was perfect!

I'd say its on par with "you should put the top down to ensure proper weight balance while corner weighting on this 35 degree day"

I still had the original ones in my C4 when I sold it with 120K miles on it. I never felt any play in them until I started autoxing it. Especially running sites like L'burg with sticky tires. Lots of stress and the wheel bearings absorb a lot of it. That's why they get checked as part of Tech on all cars, not just plastic ones...

Plenty of low end torque and sticky tires.
You have 1 of the above. If you had both you might understand
