I have no plans to go to the national parking lot racing championship - I'd rather "beat up on kids in the mud for (my) ego boost."

No, I'm not thinking about tire trailers, I'm thinking about trailers that will carry a whole rally car & something that will pull all of that. Which means I'm thinking really far into the future.

Your going to drive all that way to get owned by Rankins? You needed to see them out in Dixie on Sunday. Rankins took FTD and the top three Pax spots were Steven Rankins, Jon K, Jon McCallister. All in McCallister's car.

Yeah, even with what was damn near the drive of my life, I couldn't touch him. Rankins + STI = FAST. He and the new Mr. Breakey are going to directly cause me to spend even more money on my car.

Bah... anyone is beatable... except for Whitney, that is.

I have beaten Rankins.. Rankins has beaten me.. no biggie. I am not, nor do I think anyone is, going to any event with the intention of beating one person. I think we are all going with the intention to go as fast, qui ckly, and smoothly as possible (or 2 of 3 ;) ). If you get beat by someone, or not perform up to your expectations, you review, analyze, and change what you are doing. It's always about learning and progressing.

WIth that said, and to reiterate, I beat him and McCallister on Saturday in FL :: www.subaruchallenge.com

In fact, Rankins got beat by his co-driver in the Challenge by .4 seconds in each of his two runs, and they both ran clean ( those results are not posted yet for some reason). This WAS on the 'good tires' and McCallister even ran SECOND on hot street tires... so if anything, Rankins had the advantage. Everyone has good and bad days.

So, my point -- anyone is beatable. You can't be perfect everyday, and as long as you are living up to your own expectations and goals, there are no worries.... well, at least for me there are not.

Thanks for the sage words of wisdom Brian. I didn't mean that Steven was "unbeatable" , just that on that particular Sunday, he was really fast. As he has been both times I've seen him in an STI, much faster than he had been in his own car.

Now THAT would be a site. A vette towing a riding mower. You'd get some more interesting looks than we do with dirty cars!

Well I wouldn't be the 1st. Miles has an 4x8 trailer and tows pretty much anything he wants to in it. But when I was towing Rob's trailer with my tires and his tires on it I got some very serious looks and double takes at intersections.

I'm actually putting a hitch on Ann's car also to tow mundane things like riding mowers and stuff for her business. I can only tow race tires otherwise they will tear up my life time membership in the Corvette Club if I'm caught...

Checkout this webpage. This is the TS trailer I'm looking at for your reference.

What sort of "coin" are we talking about for a trailer like that? I didn't feel like registering to find out...

$349 is the price I found.

More expensive than the HF/NT ones but not having to assemble it or add a floor/sides and other stuff works for me. I need it to haul my stuff and Ann's stuff. So I can't make a pimpy dedicated super bling trailer like a certain person I know with ZR-1 brakes
