Any thoughts on wheel spacers to increase the track? If they will give an improvement I will wait on the align and just string the car for now.

I would avoid spacers. I know our company as a whole will not work on a car with any type of spacer. Even with longer studs there can be a risk of a wheel off.

the company stance may be against spacers, but i think general concensus is spacers = just fine.

I am coming late to this party, but what the heck

93 Miata 1.6
JRSC
Warboro 255
Borla Exhaust
JR Headers
FM Air Intake
Sebring Intake Crossover
Sebring AFPR
JR timing/boost regulator
Koni Adjust
FM springs
Rear Chassis support
JR Red solid Front Sway
Falkin 15X7 Rims
Hawk Blue Pads
Morso Rotors
SS Brake Lines
Corbeau seats
Hardog Rollbar
I think a lot more was done to the car before I bought it, but these are the things I know of. All the engine mods sound impressive, but really doesn't add a bunch of power in the grand scheme. I has taken me a bit of time to get the car back to power levels it should be.

Coming soon...
JRSC BBK
Intercooler
Bipes
Link ECU
Maybe a M62

I have a goal of 13.0 lbs/hp.

We are just gonna have to agree to disagree here. We just happen to value safety over performance/looks. Buy the right offset to begin with and there are no issues....

Jeb. What is your company? I live past Garner in the thriving community of Panther Branch(Near Wake tech)
I want to do my springs and some other stuff, this Thursday, but I am going to get the windows tinted on the Mazda(How is that for a performance mod?) and may not have time. I should be in the shop right now, my RD400 has half a solid state ignition, the wifes MTB needs a new cassette, and the Scirocco is waitng on a couple of things, but it is so much easier to sit here and type with a cold beer at hand.

PS Just eyeballing it, there is not much fender room to move the wheels out anyway. Tho I could roll them out with a bat. :)

Yay for two day weekend(Boo for working every Saturday for the last four years)
I finished the springs on the Scirocco and payed(horrors) to have it aligned. I picked three degrees neg camber and 1/16 toe out, hopefully this will reduce scrub wear and allow full use of the tread. I also adjusted the rear wheel bearings, they were a little loose after Sanford(The car moslty sits). Then I hooked the rad. fan to a switch so i can turn it on while waiting on line and keep the engine temp down.
On my wifes Prelude(picked up a week ago), she was having a problem pushing the clutch in fully even with the seat fully forward. I pulled the seat thinking I might have to move the tracks to get her closer. Turns out the previous owner had managed to jam a quarter firmly between the two tracks. A little cursing, a small crowbar, and a pair of needle nose later, the quarter was out and full travel was restored. While the seat was out of the way we also rigged her stereo for Dell DJ usage, routing the cord thru the ashtray.
Decided to try the ground mod for the Mazda3. Just running a ground wire from chassis ground to the throttle body. Supposed to give better throttle response, we will see. Then we cut a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet to cover the interior when the seats are down, so the dogs and bikes don't tear the interior up.
Finally, on my RD project, I installed new coils, finished the black box install and wired everything but the coils(out of bullet connectors). Then I redid the petcock asm and repacked the chamber mufflers and made up some new clips to hold the cannisters in place.

Pretty much as it sits:

Lemme know about the ground mod on the 3. I did the coolant bypass mod too a while back but later reversed it.

Did you change it back because you saw no improvement?

Actually the dealer did during a warranty claim and I never put it back. I never really felt anything from it, but at the same time it probably didn't hurt anything.

It seems to make a difference in throttle response. Now there is no lag when you blip the throttle. I just used some 10g wire and spade connectors. It only takes about ten minutes to do, give it a try. I think you will feel a difference.

Agreed. Consider this: every dualy sold uses a spacer on the front wheels.

So we are opening this can of worms again.... Aftermarket spacers are the no-no. If it is built into the hub or the wheel for that matter (some Lorinzers if I remember right have one attached to the wheel), those are ok. These little plates that go between the wheel and the hub... nay.

Nahhh 5mm spacers are totally legal for Stock class.

Other classes may allow more, but I am too lazy to look it up (plus I dont need them, I actually need to go the other way!)
