Someone recently asked about perticipating in our Track Events Program
with a Honda S2000. It would require a roll bar.
I recently saw an S2000 at VIR with an excellent SCCA TT spec bar and asked the owner about it. They are somwhat rare. Turns out the company that made them went out of business but someone purchased the drawings and is supposed to be selling them soon. The origional company charged $800 plus shipping. These were SCCA spec Alloy Steel (better & lighter than DOM).The owner of the car was John Oldt who runs the S2000 International web site. Info is supposed to be posted on
www.s2ki.com "marketplace" when the bars become available
I'm sure any of the three local shops that frabracate
roll bars or cages can so just as good a job.
I also talked to Bathenia Garage and he said they recently bidded on a job to manufacture the S2000 bars so that jives with the story above. He said
he could do one if someone was interested.
All the same issues of the Miata apply. John was over 6' and needed
a flush mounted racing seat for his helmet to clear the top of the bar
but it did fit nicely under the convertible top.
