Mike,

Congratulations. Since you like working on cars you should be happy with your purchase. Personally I'd run far away from any Dodge product but you should be ok since it probably won't see that many miles per year.

I hear ya. We'll see. Most Dodge owners I have talked to with new ones haven't had any problems, those with older ones echo your sentiment. There are 31k miles remaining on the bumper-to-bumper, 66k on the powertrain. So who says I have to work on it? It's not a daily driver, it can live in the shop if all hell breaks loose.

Hey what's wrong with Dodge Trucks? Our 1988 B350 based camper van has been rather trouble free in the 75K plus miles we've had it since getting it with 33K (which included a trip up the Alaskan Highway towing a travel trailer by the previous owners). Just basic stuff like tires, ONE brake job, AC, fuel pump, exhaust manifold studs, and headlight adjusters. Nothing has stranded us and nothing which seems to be specific to Dodge. I do baby it in regard to speed when towing (which is all we use it for). Sure it sucks gas and uses some oil (burn and leak) but after all I think the engine and trans are 1960's designs (i.e. even older designs than our Mustangs).
