pagids, Mark also flushed the fluid and cleaned the hubs, calipers etc as there was a ton of grime buildup.

When you do decide to come out and play at the track I'd suggest bringing an extra set of pads. I hate it when students miss sessions or a complete day because they ran out of brakes.

The extras can be the pagids or just whatever regular street pads you can get but have something to fall back on.

Keep in mind also that as pads wear (street or track) they tend to "taper". Taper results in "free play" between the full friction surface and the rotor resulting in a longer and softer feeling pedal. It pays to check pad wear carefully at every opportunity during a track weekend so that you KNOW what is happening and whether a "long" pedal is a problem or not.

FYI I just changed the 88K oem Ford pads on our 97 Mustang. Some taper wear on the pads (which weren't completely worn out yet by the way) which made the pedal feel a little longer than the pedal on our 01 GT with only 28K (same oem pad material). New oem pads solved the problem.

Now as for fluids, it really depends on your maitanence schedule on flushing the fluid. Ate super lue is a great fluid, but it should be flushed every 3-6 months, min. The Ate Gold is the long interval version of the blue, it is not the same fluid as the blue as many people seem to think, it can go up 1-2yrs between flushes, though I wouldn't recomned that. Castrol LMA is a great fluid for the price as well. Also unless you plan to bleed/flush the brakes every 2 months look at the wet boiling pts, not the dry. After 2 months in your system the fluid is "wet".

I have had the Super Blue in my car for ~1 year. I do not track my car though. Should I switch to a different fluid if I do not run it at the track.

As a side note - I stopped using Blue altogether a few years ago and switched to the gold solely because I was SICK of everything turing blue - the reservoir tank would get stained so bad it was tough to see the level, bleeder hoses stained dark blue, etc, etc.

Yes the Super Blue is not meant to be used for more than 6 months without be flushed.

The gold has the same Wet and Dry boiling points and is designed to go upto 3yrs, though again i would flush the brakes in any car at least every 2, if not sooner.
