That is still cheap for the Miata. ~$45 for the current 194/60-14 * 1.15 = ~$52 per tire. I think I can scrape that up.

I wonder when in the first quarter the 225's will be released? Hopefully it will be before our first event in '05.

Just got this e-mail from Vulcan Tire...

Dear car guys and gals,
Falken has finally let the cat out of the bag! They have supplied us with pricing and more specific availability on the RT-615. This information as well as the ability to pre-order this tire will be posted on our website today at 3pm EST. Go to: http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm
Just a bit of a warning, don't be shocked at the pricing. This tire IS more expensive than the old Azenis. For example a 225/45R17 will cost about $40 more than the old design. We assure you we are marking-up this tire using our standard (extra low) Falken mark-up. Also, in order to protect you from any fluctuations in pricing on this new tire we will be offering 30 day price protection to anyone who pre-orders this tire. (See the link above for details later today)

Thanks for showing interest in the new RT-615 and Vulcan Tire Sales and good luck racing this season.

Thank you,
Sean

Ouch! What happened to "$5 - $10" increase? Looks like $20+ to me.

I wonder if Falken will continue to make the "old" Azenis and if they'll get a bunch cheaper. I can always hope.

Their site still shows the 215 tire. I can't remember how many sizes that it was produced in, but I swear it seems like there is less now than before. The only show six sizes in the 215. If they still make the older tire, I doubt they are going to drop the price.

Out of curiousity, has anyone talked to Mark at HH about when he should be able to get the new tire? I am looking at the 16" tire and the Vulcan Tire site says available late Feb.
