If I could afford the BFG KDs, I would be running that size. They fit fine.

A 225 on a 15x7 has a bit of sidewall bulge, but it shouldn't be a big deal, especially not with R-compounds. Since I run a 205 on a 15x7, I can tell you that ends up being more tire then you think it would be.

Since I'm assuming this is for project E30, have you considered the Whitney setup - 15x8 with a 225?

I got 225/50/15 on 15X7 on the front of the Porsche, on the back same tire size on 15X8. 225 fit with no problem on 7" rim with some tire bulge but nothing to worry about there. The fit is better on a 8" rim if you have the space for them, this is not the case on the front of the Porsche.

I used to run 225 R1s (the original ones not the GFORCE) on my 14x6 rims. It was a tight fit, but they made it. Haven't run that wide since going to Kumhos though.

Stock tires for 88 5.0 Mustangs were 225/60's on 15X7 wheels. At one time as I recall I ran 245/50 BFG R tires on the 15X7's with no problem.

not for project e30.. thats on hold for a while.. its in storage until have a garage of my own again to work on it.. just bought an 88 535is and it has 15x7 wheels on it with 225/60/15's.. dont like how big those tires are and want to do 225/50/15 when i wear these tires out.. going to use these rims for autox wheels and my 16x7's from the 85 535i i had for street wheels..
