True, but if you drag race the car, you could break the Torsen. Compromises, compromises.

Art, you just assume because I drive a Camaro I must drag race it? lol.

Seriously though, I don't have any intention of drag racing my car. Especially with a manual transmission that doesn't like hard fast shifts, I suspect it'll need a rebuild one day, the early 5th gens were known to have a 2nd gear grind and I had a nasty little grind going into third quickly while passing a car the other day.

Stock GT mustangs ALWAYS had issues for the 2-3 fast shift where it would bind going into 3rd. I nice shifter like Barton or MGW solves that problem nicely. After installing the MGW, no issues w/ shifting....

Since we're talking about car butts in here I figure the right audience is already looking.

Anyone have some recommendations on where I could drop my diff off to get the R&P replaced? I got a 4.77 out of some Kia that needs to go into my Miata. Already have everything out of the car.

I dropped mine off at East Coast Gear supply as well. I brought it to Sports and Compacts first and they said they don't really do diffs. I appreciate that they were willing to pass on the job that another place could do much better.

Mustang goes under the knife on Wednesday. Let me know how they treat you, but I've heard good things about them.

Picked up the mustang list night. While there is still as small whine due to the 3:73 gears (as they said there would be), it's head and shoulders better than the noise I was dealing with. Now I also have the torsen, so no more clutch disks to replace. I don't see ever having to go back into the diff now, so that's a huge bonus as far as I'm concerned... Having a 5 year warranty is an added bonus.

Have to say I'm pleased w/ East Coast Gears work at this time.

Great news!!!! :D

Were they able to give any likely reason for the previous noise?

FYI there may be some minor mechanical noises from the Torsen in street driving that you aren't used to. There seem to be some with the 2015 that sound like small amounts of "free play" being reversed, etc. Not worrisome, just different but also not loud.

FYI my car also has 3.73's and Torsen but otherwise totally different car except for "Ford" and "Mustang" :)

no.... It was more of a remove/replace effort instead of figuring out the noise. Chalk that up to an owner inflected injury...

Just want to throw my experience with East Coast Gears on here.

Dropped off my diff with a new ring and pinion. Asked them to install the new gears into the existing diff and let me know if any other parts need to be replaced. They called a day or two later and let me know that I needed a new pinion nut since the one on my old diff was one time use (nylock). They asked if I wanted to order one and have it shipped to their shop or if they should get it from a Mazda dealership for $rape$ (Mazda's fault). I told them to grab it from Mazda since I was under a time crunch. A day later they were all done and I picked my diff up. The diff works perfectly and I just did a bunch of track time on it with no issues at all.
