I recently purchased a different front bumper cover for the mustang. I'm looking for some custom spray paint. I've found www.automotivetouchup.com, but they are a little pricy at $20 for a 12oz can. I did find good reviews for their paint matching. Any other suggestions?

What color are you going for?

Go to a paint shop and order the right paint for $50-100. Borrow a HVLP gun (mine or other) and do it better than rattle can.

Spray that, then add clear coat.

You can probably buy the paint at certain Sherwin Williams stores (or any other Dupont/PPG supplier)

I used it to paint the bumper on my old m3. It matched well enough that you had to look to really notice it. Be sure to do a good job prepping the bumper before you paint it. I was surprised it required so much prep when I painted mine(it was bare plastic).

The walker auto parts on six forks used to stock every DuPont auto paint known to man if you go that route. I'm not sure they'll mix it for you.

I actually have a gun and compressor and used the dulicolor premixed stuff, but it never hardened enough. If I order the custom paint in a quart, do I need to add hardener? I can use some good advice here as I want this to turn out right. I know I can go the pro route, but I'd really like to try this myself. If I screw up, I'll go the pro route unless I can find someone that can paint it for $200.

In regard to prep, what do I need to do and NOT do? From all the shows I've watched, seems they prep w/ 800, then primer, then paint and then wet sand w/ 1000-1200. From there a nice polish.

You have to sand it a lot more than you'd think. I used a couple different grades of sand paper for the pre sand to get it where it seemed smooth enough. Also use a primer designed for plastic.

If it's urethane, then you need to add hardener.
