Anybody know how much shoulder wear you can sustain on BFG Rivals before they cord? I'm considering flipping mine before the Jimmy V.

I'll take a look at my pile of dead Rivals and see what they look like, but I'm pretty sure that we've done worse than that without seeing cords. That said, if the insides look good then I'd flip them anyway just to get more time out of them.

I really don't want to have an issue during the two-day Jimmy V event. The inner shoulders are pristine, so I guess I'll make an appointment to have them flipped.

Is it kosher to flip asymmetrical tires?

I think the internal construction of the tire is the big deal, and I seem to recall asking the Tire Rack guys if there was anything unusual about that when I bought them. I might give up a little grip with the tires flipped, but at this point I'm more worried about cording the shoulders at the Jimmy V.

I've never had a problem running them backwards. I wouldn't run a tire backwards in the rain, but that's different. I'm guessing that with the smaller tread blocks on the outside they don't perform as well, but a look at my motorsports win/loss ratio indicates that I may not be all about maximizing performance.
