The vehicle I bought to be a tow vehicle has turned into the family trip vehicle as well. I'm sure somebody on here has put aftermarket shocks on a Tahoe/Yukon/suburban. Open for suggestions!

I've put bilsteins on both my old Suburban and the Durango. They work great.

I really like Bilsteins also. Although, I currently have Monroe HD Truck shocks on my Excursion. They're less expensive than the Bilsteins and I think they've done a good job. I've had them on since 2010. My guess is they won't last as long as the Bilsteins. I had to order them - everyone carrys the regulars but not the HD.

I'm running Bilsteins on the Tahoe. Another decent option is Rancho, but I'm a Bilstein fanboi.

Bilsteins on our Class B RV in 2012. Big improvement over the tired KYB's.

Note: If the upper shock mount uses the shaft with washers above and below the bushings be sure the thicker washer is at the shock body side (lower). The instructions don't specify and the the installer we used got one side wrong. The shaft then punched through the thinner washer. Sure made nasty noises as we arrived at the DC Pro and during the trip home. Plus no right front damping unless you count "friction". Bilstein sent me a new shock as a good will gesture.

I just put Monroe sens-a-tracks on the Navigator for that "road hugging" feel in my 7000lb SUV, no actually the Monroe's are just what came with the kit that allowed me to rip out the dead air suspension, they will probably blow in 10,000 miles and I'll replace them with Bilsteins of course, because I too am a fanboi.

I just realized that the shocks are shot in my F150. Looks like there is consensus on what brand I should replace them with.

They'll start leaking before I can even get the trailer fully hooked up.

Have them rebuilt...or at least have Dave (or whomever) give you the current set back when you have them replaced and then sell them to someone who will rebuild them. Unless the bodies are super rusty or damaged, someone will want them.

Considered that but seems like a major PITA.

I also like the KYB monotubes for that application, either the Gas-a-Just or the MonoMax. Both perform well, much like the Bilsteins.
