After grinding away metal and bending the brackets away from the bar, I have a workable solution. Clearance is still tight, but it doesn't make the horrible metal-on-metal screech from before.
The real answer (for anyone that's interested) is to purchase adjustable length endlinks from a Miata vendor like Goodwin Racing or Racing Beat. The stock endlinks are definitely not designed for a front bar as large as the JR. The stockers are too long, and place the bar too close to the aformentioned bracket and the front subframe.
Oh, and does anyone know of a local vendor where I can buy some polyurethane bushing grease?
