I bought this at Sears for about $20 on sale a few months ago. It is typically used for working with threaded rod. Saves you using box wrenches on that aspect.
Well as it turns out there are some pretty tight places on the Vette where either a regular socket or deep well just won't work. Either there is no room to get the ratchet and socket in place or the bolt sticks out too far past the nut. So I've been using this little guy for that. Pretty handy.
Replacing the spark plug on the passenger side next to the firewall on the LT1 is a major PITA. Usually much swearing, cut hands, and improvised uses of spark plug sockets happens. Well the small extension that comes with it is hollow just like the socket and the ratchet head. Plus all the sockets are thin wall. So it slides into place easily. I changed that plug in about 5 minutes!
Now if I could only find a tool that changes the plug wires on the drivers side of the LT1 I'd be pretty darned amazed
