I used to know a guy who knew of a truck shop somewhere in this area that did it for about $20/injector. I'm not talking about running a can of cleaner through them, but taking loose injectors, cycling them in a sonic cleaner full of solvent, then firing them from a graduated supply of fluid with a strobe light to check the flow rate and pattern. I've sent them off to RC in the past, and they do them for $24/ea, but if I could find someone local that does it, then I'd prefer to keep everything in town.

Anyone know any shops locally that do this?

I think Diesel Injection in Cary does that. Was right close to Happy Japs, this was a few years ago.

Thanks, I just called them and they do it for $20-$30/injector. I'll have to drop some off there.

Steven Carter had his E30 injectors clean and flow tested locally. Maybe he'll chime in.

Wasn't local...I think it was RC engineering, but honestly I can't recall anymore. Zach/Noah now have the receipt folder, so they can confirm. Something like $18 each for 6. Was worthwhile as several were pretty far out of spec and no one at the time had a good local reference.

The last couple of sets that I sent in were pretty far off as well. That was after my tuner noticed that the changes that he was making in my fuel maps were not being reflected linearly in my AFR. The guy who told me about the truck place said that direct injection diesel trucks have a lot of injector problems, so a lot more truck service shops (vice car service shops) have the machine for cleaning/testing injectors.

This may be no help since it sounds like you need these turned around quickly / locally, but I've used both RC Engineering and Cruzin Performance, their links are below. Of the two, I prefer Cruzin - it was(/is?) a one-man operation, so the guy who does the work actually answers the phone if you have any questions. Also, Cruzin was/is less expensive - current price is $19/injector (vs. $24 for RC Engineering). I was turned off by RC when I called to find out what exactly was involved with "balancing" injectors - something they claim they do at no extra cost. After calling the guy out for trying to shovel BS, he finally had to admit that they just clean them - clean injectors of the same type are inherently balanced.

I have used Cruizin Performance as well. It seems there is RC in Cali and most other places are in central or northern Michigan.

Yep...Cruizin Performance is who it was that I used--thanks for jogging my memory! I kept blanking on the name and recalled checking them both out. Very quick turnaround, too.
