Update! (though maybe not a good one)

LRR did finally respond and offered up some dates in April. Unfortunately, they will only honor their "standard" dyno rates of 3 pulls / $125 per car. If anybody really wants to continue with LRR Dyno time, let me know, and if there's enough interest, we can still look to put something together.

Otherwise, I'd echo my previous post requesting recommendations for other shops where maybe more discounted rates might be available to the masses.

Anyone else not able to make this thread marked as viewed? Also says the last post was by Dustin at 'Thu Mar 28, 2013 4:06 pm' when the last one I can see was on the 26th. Odd..

e:
Me posting in it seemed to have fixed it.

Guys, I did make an update to this thread yesterday, but evidently it didn't "take".

So, here's the scoop. I did get a response back from LRR. They have offered up a few dates in April for us. BUT, there's a catch. They are no longer honoring the "special rate" they had been giving us, and would revert to their standard rates of $125/car, which includes 3 pulls (i.e. no $25/pull rate; if you're strapped to the dyno you pay $125 regardless).

I know this change will likely make this a non-starter for most folks, but if there is sufficient interest in using LRR specifically, I will continue to act as point of contact to get something put together. With that said, however, I want to reiterate my last post requesting recommendations for other good shops that might have a history of supporting dyno days.

Thanks!

With the change of rate. I am out. I don't need 3 pulls and $125 is more than I want to pay for 1 pull. I think Bob Kendrick will feel the same.

At those rates we could just invest in a "club dyno" and have it installed in your garage.

I should also point out that LRR is not a current THSCC sponsor.

At least it was an easy fix. You must be running REALLY rich to foul plugs on the track.

That's a "go away, we don't want to deal with you" rate.

(that would also explain why there haven't been any inspection days at LRR this year.)

It's also kinda hard to throw money at them. Luckily getting my car re-tuned is going fairly smoothly, but setting up an appointment was a multi-week affair.

It's somewhat safe to assume that if you're not running a GT3 Cup car or something similar, they aren't exactly interested in picking up extra cheap business here and there. When I goto Performance Chassis this upcoming week, I'll ask Mark & Andrew what other shops in the area are solid.

Is there a dyno in/near Cary anywhere as an alternate?
