While testing the course up at NCCAR a few weeks ago, I had a big "bang" on the car. I thought I had broken something in the rear diff and I could hear a grinding noise. Confident it was the diff, I took it Don Jenkins ford on 401 since it still had the drive train warranty. Come to find out the noise I heard was the front sway mount breaking and they could find no issues w/ the rear diff. The grinding noise was a result of the AC pulley hitting the sway bar in a hard left hand turn.

A call to ADDCO and I had some new mounts on the way in a week and a much beefier design. These shouldn't break now. While I was installing the straps on the sway, I found this......

Not happy....

As far as I can tell, the bumper got hooked on something and was torn as the car was backed up. Took it by the stealership today and didn't get a warm fuzzy that they are going to do anything about helping me. I looked at buying a chin spoiler for it, but I don't like the look on the car. My next thought was to try to simply glue it back together w/ some bumper glue, several youtube videos show how to repair, but most require repainting which I was trying to avoid since it looks like I'll be paying for this.

I'm almost to the point of buying a used GT/CS bumper and getting it painted if I can't get this repaired on the cheap.

Suggestions?

Dont take "No" for an answer. Keep bitching at them and tell them that you can get affidavits from people who know the car wasn't damaged before. Write Ford as they will then have to do paperwork.

After that - duct tape you can get it in many colors

Rodney, that REALLY sucks. It reminds me why I almost never take my car to anyone for service. There was an article recently (Jalopnik I think) of a guy who recorded techs beating the hell out of his Camaro while in for "service". I have no advise beyond what others have said, but good luck.

Yes, go back and complain lots more. I'll be happy to be a witness as to the bumper's prior integrity if it comes to that. Good luck and give 'em hell!!!
