So where can I get the Redline stuff locally? Even though Advance Auto is a retailer of thier products, they only stock the motor oil and aren't willing to order the other stuff for me.

Strange, the Kildare-Farm Rd. store in Cary ordered me the MT-90 today, but their warehouse didn't stock the 75W90, so I'll have to get that somewhere else. I also checked at Carolina Mustangs yesterday, but they didn't have any on the shelf, and wanted $1 per quart more than Advance anyway. Guess I'll check T-Hoff for the 75W90.

www.soloperformance.com carries Redline stuff. 75W90 is $7.49/qt. They also have a good assortment of other racing stuff from vynil and magnetics to lubes to oils and helmets.

OK Ryan came over Saturday and we got it done. Ryan was able to get me two quarts of MT-90 in Greenville, but they didn't have the Redline 75w90 gear oil for the rear diff so I used Mobil 1 instead.

Change was easy and straight forward. The rear diff fluid looked just fine (to me) though I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. :whoknows: The transmission fluid however looked very dark and cloudy compared to the new stuff.

Dustin if you have any questions about doing this on your car shoot me a PM and I'll be glad to tell you the tools needed and so forth.

Just a tip when changing the transmission fluid -

Make sure you unscrew the "fill" bolt before the "drain" bolt. If you can't remove the "fill" bolt you probably don't want to drain the fluid until you can remove the "fill" bolt.
It strikes me that this is one of those places where you write "ask me how I know" , but it didn't happen to me. Really.

I forgot ....

I bet those shift boots are cracked ... Save some oil for the turret when you get around to fixing those.

I read that, and remembered to do so. It also helped that I read the fill plug (hex) and drain are different sizes. One uses a 23mm socket and the other a 24mm. I didn't have any metric sockets that large so at least I knew had to buy them beforehand. Nothing like getting ready to do a job only to discover you don't have the right tool. Not that it has ever happened to me though...really.

Didn't get to that yet. I'll bet you're right though. I've read that you can use almost anything in there from the MTL to axle grease. Any recommendation?
