So, today I'm replacing the turn signal switch and fixing properly the ignition switch on my '91 Ford F150 XLT. Great truck, very useful at various jobs albeit ignoring the sub optimal fuel economy. So I had to drop the steering column in order to get to the ignition switch (tilt wheel). Much to my surprise I discovered that the dashboard was only being held on by a bracket and one bolt by the passenger door and the steering column. Every mount point on the dash the plastic has gotten brittle and broken free rendering it useless. I'm pretty sure if I were to unbolt that bracket the dash would fall forward till wires/ cables etc stopped it.

Who knows how long it's been this way, not sure I'm going to do much about it unless the side bracket fails but... Just got to love 20 year old plastic!
