With this 10Hz Bluetooth GPS module:

Looks like a pretty killer combination, although I haven't actually bought the app yet. Some cool features include split times, theoretical best lap time calculation, exporting to their online searchable database, pulling track configurations (start/finish, sector points) from said database, and REAL-TIME streaming of your laps (!) to their website, facebook, or twitter (assuming your phone isn't melting using bluetooth, accelerometers, writing to the SD card, AND uploading all this data over its data connection) so people can watch your laps live over the internet.

By the way, those wishing they had an iPhone should know there are a multitude of similar apps for Android as well, including the excellent Torque app which does OBDII sensor reading, code pulling/clearing, data logging, and plus it has support for a plugin system and there are numerous plugins available in the Market.

just saw this topic.

Feel free to ask any questions about the RC.

I will say that we did find an issue with course walks and adding the Start/finish plus sectors real time. Walking speeds doesn't always update the bearings correctly.

Working with Rodney and a few others we found that if you walk the course THEN add the S/F and sectors you can make sure the gate direction is correct and it takes no more real time in setup. You Just drive your car/person on the screen with the < and > buttons to the point the line needs to go. The course walk itself worked like a charm to map the track/course. We have also added a start "Box" just for AutoX use.

wow....$89 is a great price! Can it do autocross configurations? (Sorry I didn't read too much on the app) Might have to cave in and upgrade to a smartphone.
