Pulled from the thread that Chris linked....

Dave Davis. He's the go to mechanic for Atlantic Auto and that's how I meet Dave. Great guy and better mechanic. I've been dealing w/ Dave for 5 years and have turned on numerous friends and no negatives from anyone.

I usually bought all of my parts through him as well. If you have a question from a DIY perspective, he'll help you out w/ advice and parts. Number is 829.9599. Not listed in the phone book. He's near the Raleigh farmers market off of Kirkland Dr at 1200 Suite 103. Call to get directions.

There is a new shop opened by Dan Connor, who until recently worked as a Master Technician at Leith BMW. He has now opened his own place, BPC ( http://bimmerperformancecenter.com/ ) off of Gresham Lake Rd. I am taking my 325is there tomorrow, for them to look at my transmission. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to work with.

I also recommend MPowered (now called Import Motor Werks) based on personal experience with my 330i (and my RX-8).
