Hey all! I am have a friend who has a 2000 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7T that he has let sit around for about 2 years (yes, i know, very sad!) One of the many issues that made it sit in the driveway was a bad ABS Control Module. I picked up a replacement from a junkyard for pretty cheap, but I now need to figure out how to flash it with the old software. I haven't yet tried to connect it as is (I will be trying that), but I am guessing it won't be that easy.

Soooo, does anyone have a Vag-com unit that I can borrow? Any advice on other solutions? (I have never used a vag-com, but I hear you can flash the ABS control modules with them!

Thank you!

Ya... bad name - or good, depending upon how they view marketing!

It seems BMW, Audi, and VW all used the same Bosch ABS modules which go bad! They are something like $800 from a dealer new. You can get them repaired for pretty cheap ($200 or so) or get a junkyard unit (I found one for $120 with a 30 day warranty...)

Thanks!

Really sorry to hear that David. I did forget to tell you when I sold the car that like a BMW, the VW has a special tool kit. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with the car like the BMW's, but the good news is you can pick it up really cheap most anywhere. Here is a link. They also have a slightly more expensive model as well, but it's a little harder to get.

David: I found a vag com and will probably be picking it up tomorrow. Do you have the parts you need on hand? Perhaps I can come over with the vagcom early next week.
