99 Golf.... MUST DIE!!!

Yeah, that should take care of it. The easiest way to fix any VW I've ever owned was to slap a for sale sign on it. Looking out the window to see it missing from the driveway was quite therapeutic.

Hmm...... Your welcome... :)

And now that I've shared the secret to fixing it.....you're welcome. In all seriousness though David, I hope the X-mas tree effect on the dashboard has settled down some for you.

FYI according the the online owner's manual for 2012 Mustangs (I plan ahead) this feature is adjustable and can be disabled with owner programming.

Yes, that is true. I have done that on mine, it is available right through the front display. My two mustangs seemed to be very good about describing features like this and how to enable/disable them.

so, the electrical problems have started....

f'ning blower fan quit. Still chasing issues and thought it was the fan resistor. replaced. Still have the same issue. Looks like it might be the actual switch itself. is this the trend I can look forward? Looks like I need to call Jeremy again and source a switch... dang it.....

Rule on "most" of the German cars:

1. If only "high" works= resistor

2. If "nothing" works= switch or blower motor

YMMV

must be the switch, hooked the fan to a direct 12v and it works fine. You assesment is spot on then. Now to figure out how to the get switch out, mounted behind the mounting plate. More fun to come!

Thanks John!

Yes, 8th digit is a J. You guys open on Saturday? If not, it will be Monday before I can get there. Can you go ahead and pull the switch please? This is for the manual AC, not the auto climate control.
