I have found you do have to go thru all that in order to use some of their inserts. Cut old out, press ring out. I have been sucessful of stiffening up mounts on old/worn out mounts by just using window weld and filling the voids up. Put down a layer of aluminum foil, lay mount down on side, fill up and let dry.
Good luck
x2. We did this on our Lemons car and it made a big difference. Whatever you do though, make sure you do all the mounts. We only did three of ours and skipped the back one because it was a real pain in the butt to get to. Turns out it might have cost us 1st place at the last May CMP race as the rear mount was so bad the car would pop out of 2nd with the engine under any kind of load. It was twisting so bad it ripped the stamped steal bracket for the front motor mount as well. Definitely a bad thing in an endurance race where you spend 80% of your time between 20 and 60 mph.
