Currently I have 2 sets of rota attack 17x7.5" wheels weighing 15.5lbs on my scale. One set has 225/45/17 Falken Azenis and the other set will soon have 245/40/17 Kumho MXs. Rota just released a 17x8 wheel weighting in at 18.5lbs. Right now I cannot afford $400 each for the SSRs but I can $~500 for all 4 Rotas and the $250 each Enkei 17x8 I have found weigh in at 17.5lbs.

So. Would you go with a 17x7.5" wheel weighing 15.5lbs or go up to the 17x8" wheel and gain 3lbs of unsprung weight a corner?

With a 245 tire, I'd take the extra weight. You'll have less sidewall deflection, which will in turn help the handling of the car. - AB

I have some 205/55/16 Continentals you could try.

:D

Sorry - I meant to say, "Use whatever KC is using."

Aahh, so take the best of both worlds eh? Good call! For some wierd reason I didn't think of that!

Put the heavier 225 azenis on the 15.5lb 7.5" wide wheel
then
Put the lighter 245 kumhos on the 18.5lb 8" wide wheel

Bingo!
