Right now I need a shop for a T5 WC. I would prefer is be local to the Cary/Apex area.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Marty,

If you get a wild hair and decide you are willing to ship it out for work, I will highly recommend ProMotion in Florida. Look them up and talk to Walt. I had a ProMo T45 in our 99 Cobra.

I don't know. I bought the tranny from a guy that had ProMo upgrade his T45. Figure 150lbs for the tranny and call UPS to see what they say.

Marty,
Sent you a PM to a guy out of Mooresville that is supposedly pretty good.

Also, have you tried calling fastlane motorsports? I've heard good things about them as well.

It might be the place that I said was in Concord. It's actually Mooresville and call All Trans. - AB

Could be. This guy's name is Carl Cambell.

Also, here is the link to Fastlane

Sounds like a different place. The place I went to was a referral from a local race shop. He worked for Roush Racing for the NASCAR teams and was asked to be Jamie McMurray's crew chief by Jack Roush when Jamie came to them. The dude declined, saying "That kid can't drive a wet noodle". Besides a race here and there, the guy is right :P

I will pull his name and contact info tonight. He did an awesome job and his work was guaranteed for 12 months afterward. He even spec'd out all of the parts for me and allowed me to order them through my TRD discount and only charged me the labor. It probably saved me a good $3-$400. - AB

It's a T5. Anyone can handle that rebuild. Take it to the closest transmission shop.

Don't you have too many cylinders to run with those guys? I thought they were limited to 2.0 liters or something.

Instuctors are exempt.

It's 3 liters and smaller

Have you ever looked inside a T5? It's about as simple as a transmission can get. Seriously, if someone can't pull off a rebuild on this transmission, they shouldn't be in the business. Just be glad that I didn't suggest that he do it himself.
