hub ring source?

Anyone know of a local source for hubcentric rings? I can get them on the Net for $25, but with shipping it seems a bit too pricey. Any leads would be great.

Discount tire seems to keep a pretty good selection of aluminium spacers in stock, last time I needed some they had them.

Follow-up....Went to Discount Tire nearest me on Millbrook near Glenwood. Not only did they have the correct size rings in stock ($15 for set), they also had better pricing on several tire/wheel combos I was evaluating when compared to Tirerack...like it!

Steve I am assuming that the $15 rings are plastic (based on price). We have had a few instances of the plastic rings freezing/melting onto the hubs at events involving high brake temps (CMP & VIR South). It might be a good idea to slather a little anti seize onto the hub before using these. The ones on my BMW Kosi rims always stayed on the front hub and not in the wheel. They pried off with a screwdriver, but complicated fast tire rotations.

Funny, I heard people say the same about aluminum ones, not that they melt but that they expand from the heat and can't get them off until the hub cools down. Plus, some folks say the warp and deform. Pick your poison, I guess. Minor issue IMO until I convert to wheel studs as recommended in SpecE30. As a horribly slow noob I don't plan on doing rapid tire changes for HPDE since I'll be sticking with performance summer tires for the first few events. or years...who knows?

My wife's mini has aluminum rings for her street wheels and they seize onto the hub every time unless I put some anti-sieze on them.

I melted plastic ones my first time at CMP.

I quit running them after that. All my Miata wheels require conical nuts, which are self-centering. I have had no eccentric wheel or loosening lug issues for the couple of years I've been running w/o them. I still check them prior to going out each session.

Personally, unless you have flat bottomed nuts, I don't see the need for hub-centric rings unless they're serving as spacers also. I will be running the widest permissable spacers on my E30. Those spacers are aluminum hub-centric. I believe the BMW wheels require conical nuts also.

Of course, now that I've posted my $.02 worth, Vincent will come charging in to crucify me.
