Ouch, Jason...Not sure what is worse--my driving a "soccer mom wagon", or the fact that you get beat by one....oh, snap!

(kidding, BTW..all in good fun!)

Hang on a second. Marty, your numbers were from track events? And you saw a large upswing in the number of Honda S2000s?

not a large up swing, the number of s2000's and 350Z's combined...not each.

i think if there were more affordable awd sports cars you would see alot more. right now the big options are audi TT, audi r8 Nisan GTR. The EVO and WRX though very sport geared are sadan's and based off of family/dd style car's.

I know when I bought my car, I wanted a sports car... and thus went with something that said sports car, not soccar mom wagon.

make me an awd miata or s2k... and I will be all over it, providing they can keep the weight down.

with the introduction of the X5M, any chance the SCCA might set a PAX for The Ultimate Soccer Mom Driving Machine?

testing my wrx on dirt, and dry and wet pavement..awd will get you in rain.. yes it can. 200+ bhp and awd on wet pavement,, its made to be sideways sport like.. so it can be ready to play.. you do have to be careful on u turns in rain. on dry pavement.. you get round then nail it, not much happens.. it just claws her way out of a turn.. in dirt... its sideways pretty much if anything is done.. in first and second gear, if you got boost, your sideways.especially first gear with boost, you will get all four wheels spinning.

Keith Q showed the STi to be very competitive in AS against 'sport' cars. Didn't he pull out the class win?

I know when I bought my car, I wanted something with balls... and thus went with something with attitude. It can't dance on its tippy toes like some, but it can slam dance :) and still easily tote my kids to pre-school.

Steven,

That hurt

and ingeneral about my comment. I wasnt trying to say awd car's cant hack it. if I had a choice for a second "go fast" car it would likely be a wrx due to the awd, and handeling. my comment was simply styling related. Im just clarifying my point is all.

Though this proves nothing, I think it would be a BLAST.
