Yowza! That would put me at ~ $580 for a fine if busted. Yeah, paying that extra $100 looks trivial in that light.

ah yes. what at trucking school was: gross vehicle weight. gross combined vehicle weight. and weight rating.. and capacity. we learned alot about weights. mostly.. the weight is affected by your load, how much stuff is in the truck, legally, you can only weigh 80k lbs total.. so you have to juggle things around to make sure.. your weight on each axle is the legal amount. 12k for the front.. and 30k for the rears. it does not mean only a 40k lb load.. it means how much is your truck, how much is your trailer, how much is your load. very true..
