I wonder if the Bel Air might have faired better in a full head on crash where the frame rails hit the Malibu.

And of course my entire experience was tempered by the shock that they actually crashed a 1959 Bel Air. They could have given it to me instead.

But that's exactly the kind of stupidity we should all expect from the IIHS.

(which is not to invalidate their point. But couldn't they have done a computer simluation instead, or at least have crashed something no-one cares about, like a Ford?)
