You know that when you are rich, drunk and high on coke, street racing seems like a smart thing...

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

The best finish that car had all year was third in the 24. A few fifths and a lot of 8/9 finishes otherwise. But in the 24 there were four drivers, including Haywood. Now, I don't know for sure how he compares to Barbosa in terms of lap times at the various tracks, but recent events would imply that he's had a great car all year long and maybe he's not living up to his end. Could it be that he's simply buying that ride?!? COULD IT BE?!? :D

Nah, just because his family is *heavily involved* with the series it has nothing to do with JC getting that ride......

Not a good year from the France family with ISC profits being way down and now legal fees going up to whitewash....er....bring justice to this um....incident.

He does seem to crash a lot, probably from trying to snort as he goes down the backstraight.

I sure wish there was a reasonable way to keep fools like these guys off the public roads. Other than locking them up (not likely for very long even for common drunks and drug users let along ones with tons of money/influence) there doesn't seem to be a solution . . .

Of course, texting while driving isn't really much better :P

This cracks me up. (No pun intended)

"A woman riding in the front seat with Richmond - who said she hardly knew him - told police, "He (Richmond) was going so fast, I put my seat belt on," the report states. "

At what speed does she feel the seat belt is necessary

:stupid:

She must be a Roads [sic] scholar - like standing on them flagging down drivers......

Those two guys look like reputable citizens in the pictures too.[/b]

Some high-class people right there..... Sounds like another case of "worthless scumbags living off family fame and money" to me.

I bet he's gonna get an endorsement contract from Just For Men based on the really cool goatee he's rockin'.

man easy on the goat's... 8)

Those of us with butt chins need that hair...

In the interview where he swears... he looks a bit ummmm strung out... to put it mildly.

Power and Money... some get elected and abuse it, some are born into it. Makes me think of Paul Menard... someone who has raced in Nascar for 20 years and has consistantly been terrible. His family money keeps Menards on the side of the car even though he couldn't drive his way out of a paper bag.

come to think of it here are a few more NASCAR Drivers who have lucked out being born with the right last name..

Kyle Petty- 25+ years of racing with one win
Kerry Earnhardt
Stephen Wallace
Micheal Waltrip- lucks into wins via weather, teamates blocking

I miss the Harry Gant's and Neil Bonnetts... the guys who started from nothing and made their own ways.

At least those guys aren't so stupid as to get caught with illegal substances etc. I agree that those guys for the most part are where they are cause of who they are, but they haven't disgraced the family name. Well, wait didn't Mikey have a problem with running off the road :-) and I think Stephen Wallace had some issue too.

OMG!!!! I am shocked I say, shocked  He is given back his competition license immediately and not treated like B. Rothisberger.

Wasn't this the same orgainization that went all out to make sure that J. Mayfield was not attending their events and is suspending crew members right and left???

Amazing too that he was able to find a ride on such short notice.

Ahhhhh again the comparisons to WWE are so prescient......

It's amazing what a little money will do for you.

He's still a tool though.
