Yes, I'm curious about this to, I just realized that the auto-x is on Sunday. The Dragway ususally has test n' tune on friday night, so are doing the dragracing Friday or Saturday night? Is this still even on?

Guys - the 2003 Tarheel "Trip to the Strip" is just waiting for an organizer! Scott Johnson has contact info for the Rock and we have already been cleared to have our own lanes and bracket race.

So someone (Kevin? Les?) pick up the ball and give Scott a call. His number is in the H&T.

Just need to inform the track that we're coming, generate some interest, and let people who may never have dragged know how to get there, what time, how much, etc.

Mike

Well, this will be only my second time there (rode down with Tom Hoppe many months ago), and I don't really know that much about how bracket racing works - so I would rather somebody else organize it. But if nobody steps up soon, I might be willing to muck it up myself.

I'm here, and slacking off as usual.

Right now the info I have:

Import race on Saturday night. Gates will open at 6:00 PM, they will arrange for us to run a bracket race later in the evening.

I'm not sure if we will have our own lanes or if we will have ot share. I know last year we got there early (right at 6:00) and I had about 8 passes in 30-40 minutes, I got tired and stopped running.

Beware, I'll be drag racing the Tundra this year...

Scott

Well, the problem is that Rockingham Dragway has test n' tune on Friday nights, not Saturday. At least as far as I know, and since the auto-x this weekend is Sunday, two trips down in one weekend, or staying in Rockingham through Saturday are the options. Neither very appealing. I was under the mistaken impression that the "trip to the strip" was this Friday and the auto-x was Saturday. Until someone corrected me today. Are you suggesting doing it some other weekend?

Ignore my last post, looks like we all jumped in at the same time. :-) So we are doing it Saturday night, thats cool, I thought this was allready a done deal, just was unclear of the day. Scott, we can have a straight up Toyota head-to-head, allthough in bracket racing the Tundra will rule if its an auto.

My money says that the Tundra will beat several cars down the 1/4 mile. If you drive a sotck Miata, *please* line up againt me...

315 ft-lbs of torque at 3000 rpm and no wheelspin is fun.

Winning the bracket races in a pickup truck will be priceless.

Besides, Sally will be driving the race car.
