No, not my Miata. I'm trying to get my sister's Miata back to reliable condition and I'm stumped with something.

The car won't idle and has problems starting sometimes. Occasionally it will idle normally (just below 1000 rpm) but as soon as you touch the gas pedal, it dies.

Any ideas?

sounds like a cold blooded motorcycle. if you can get it to idle long enough to warm up, does it run better?
