damn kevin,

that sucks. i chopped the tips of my middle finger and ring finger on my right hand when closing a window. it grew back normal. it was at the tips, just missed the nail.

it sucked typing and scratching and everything.

gluck with the recovery, as an experience injuree, i advise you to relax and get some rest, dont do any intense hand movements, like driving or anything for at least... umm... 2 days maybe.

ouch!!!! damn sorry to hear that happened! So, are you without finger tip or did they reattach?

On a side note to that, I was talking to the guy that swapped out my engine in the now gone '91 suburban. All of his finger tips on his left hand were all in a nice even row. I asked what happened. Said a hood fell on his finger tips and made a nice slice through the longest 2. They reattached what they could.

Hope all is well and enjoy those pain pills!!! Truely sorry to hear that hapened.

Planning to be at the rallyx, but not at setup. :(

Yikes man! That's no good. Feel better soon.

I gave myself a pretty deep cut last year on my left side 2 finger. I did it trying to be all food network fast chopping an onion. It grew back fine, but the scar remains, and there's no sensation at all there. It feels weird.

Yeah, most dudes complain about having the hair ripped out of their arm more than anything else. Makes me chuckle every time.

What the hell were you doing when you chopped it off??

Years back, my left femur was shattered in an accident. A bar was placed in the center of the bone through an incision in my hip. The thigh was cut open to align the separated pieces of bone. They shaved my leg but missed about a 2" wide section that ran down the length of the back of my thigh. After everything that I went through (including a broken arm, a smashed and mostly severed hand) the WORST pain was when they removed the tape holding the bandages on my leg. It was so bad that to date it is the only pain that I remember. From the hospital anyway, physical therapy (physical terrorism) brought about a whole new experience..

That sucks Kevin. But think about the nose picking charades that you can do now :)

Ouch!
I'm sorry to hear that.
I can sympathize; I too have one digit shorter than it should be
as I did something stupid many years ago involving a lawnmower.

I hope you got some good pain meds.

Really, we're going to see you Saturday!? Now that's a RallyXer, but don't expect a handicap on the timing! (I'm sorry I couldn't resist.)

Seriously, take care of the hand first.

Wow, Kevin, sorry to hear about the accident but glad to hear it wasn't worse.

It took me a minute to figure out the photo showing what appeared to be your right hand injured - of course, the camera in your hand and towels in the background should've been the first clues.

And I'm digging the blood-stained shirt.

Ok, get the moderator in here, that kind of stuff does not need to be on this forum!!!!!! I can't stand blood and guts. I assumed the title of the thread was mis leading, jeez im about to scream like a girl.

On a related note though, I went to high school with a guy that had lost his index finger below the knuckle, just had a tiny nub. He would cram it up his nose when we had a substitute teacher, funniest thing you ever saw!!

I had a customer a few years ago that purchased and built an adjustable height basketball goal from us. He came back about a year later and very nonchalently mentioned "oh by the way, tell your future customers to be careful building these hoops, I lost half a finger".

The pole is a parallelogram design and it decended with his finger in the corner of the pivot.

He was super cool about it though and acted like it was "merely a flesh wound".

Good luck on a speedy recovery and fingertips have been known to grow back depending on the severity.

Thanks, everybody. It currently feels like I have one of those big paperwork binder clips on it. Hurts constantly, just enough to be annoying.
