Oh you guys.

Stacy, for a quick and easy answer (which Chuck mostly already hit on) is that from an administrative standpoint Vista sucks donkey um, well, nevermind. From a typical end user who just needs to point and click, Vista is the best comic gui OS that MS has ever come out with. (Notice that I said MS, not overall)

Seeing as how I work in a MS environment, I need to know some of these things and I figued I would try and jump ahead of the curve with Windows 7 but waited to long to download it. We are not going to Vista, and if 7 is as similar to Vista as I'm hearing claims of, then we most likely won't be moving to that OS either.

Cosby, cut the clarifications. This is the lounge and we can feel free to turn this into a political debate if we want to! No need clouding the thread with facts and whatnot! Muahahahahahaaaaaa!

Seriously, it's all good. I was just playing the part of the Remchak and stirring things up a bit. And for those who have no idea what I was talking about with my previous post about "respect", well, I'll clarify. I was an early employee at Red Hat. Very early. Started in an apartment and when I left there were over 500 employees and offices around the world. I still know more about Linux than this Mac I use for a desktop, but I do still have Linux boxes around, too. Always will. Have a couple of Windows boxes around, and probably always will. *shrug* It's all about the right tool for the job, and sometimes, begrudgingly, that's Windows (like to play iRacing!).

IMO, Windows is really only useful for playing Live for Speed. I cancelled my iRacing subscription because I didn't feel it was worth its great expense, and I found that I preferred to keep playing Live for Speed anyway, which I paid 24GBP for years ago.

Haha - 2 pages and *still* nobody has answered Cosby's request

I did download it - I have it installed on my main browsing PC, but it doesn't support the onboard NIC, so I haven't spent much time with it.

PM me and I'll figure out a way to get a disk or download to you.

Awesome Kendt! We'll work it out somehow.

Donnie, I keep forgetting about this, but now is as good of time as any to bring up some old memories for you (maybe)

I work with a woman who happens to be a Minowitz. The reason she is a Minowitz is because she married Bob Minowitz. (stop me when anything sounds familiar here). We all went out to dinner one night and were talking about something, not sure what, when he mentions finding the right job and retiring early. At this point he then interjects a subtle non-malicious "Damn you Donnie Barnes" and it shocked me. He then tells me his story of how he currently works for TekElec when he could have had a different life like someone else that we all know and, well, sometimes adore. :D

That's so cool to know that random people I've met through my life and almost forgotten about can curse me in public and someone else knows exactly who they are talking about!

Seriously, that's a funny story. Thanks for that. And tell Bob I said hi.
