Not long. It popped into my head while I was waiting for the shuttle bus after the UNC's win over the Twerps last night.

today i saw a silver car which i mistook for a 6 series. oddly enough it was a civic coupe. the Bangle Butt was massaged but very evident from which it originated.

i do believe he will be missed. at least by the Japanese once they run out of designs to copy. 8)

Here's a great article on the shift in design (from nceuro):

http://www.speedsportlife.com/2009/02/0 ... #more-1011

Personally, the newer designs have grown on me, especially the E90 & E92 M3's. Plus, the M6 with the big 'ol butt still is an incredible looking car.

Too bad Madrussian doesn't concur (http://m3.madrussian.net/faq.shtml#29)

"Who is Chris Bangle?
Chris Bangle, in short, is the devil incarnate - this is the ham fisted prick who is responsible for such atrocities as the E65/66 7 Series, the Z4 and the E60 5 series. This simple minded prick has managed to do more damage in the last few years of "flame surfacing" and "forward thinking" design to destroy the gorgeous, sophisticated and classic lines BMW has always been known for that any head on impact into a brick wall in automotive history. Ridiculed widely by both BMW owners and the Automotive press, this asshole's response is only to say that we just don't get the factor of his brilliance and that his garbage will grow on us. This is not my first M3, but from having seen the preview images of the E90 3 series I have a bad feeling it will be the last one. Also, contrary to common belief, Banglefuck did not design the E46 3 series or the E46 M3 - he over saw some of the design work but did not design the car or have the final say. His first real design is the putrid, bloated wart hog E65.
There is a "Stop Chris Bangle" petition that now has over 5000 signatures - Take a moment and add your name and help get rid of this prick http://www.petitiononline.com/STOPCB/petition.html.

While I haven't been a big fan of the 6 series (a guy in my building has a new M6), I really like the Z4 and the Z4/M Coupe. There is a M coupe with Eurobahn in Greensboro with 30k miles for $29.5k. If I weren't looking for sedans/wagons, it would be really tempting. - AB

The current 6-series starts out like a droopy Builck, and ends up like a Solara with a steamer trunk shoved up it's Bangle.

My favorite BMWs were the ones that looked like Corvairs.

I wondered how they were and thought it was likely the case. They would be a good place to test drive though ;) - AB

The new accord is the best looking BAngle Butt inspired car out there. I am thinking of getting one and making kidney grills for it and have a HMW and save about 20k

That's a great point Aaron. They seem to keep a stock of nice bimmers including a handful of E46 M's and they all have like 60-80k.

Perhaps they offer 24 hours test drives (like the Johnson & Leith dealers offer) are available to take one to a Triad auto-x by chance? j/k 8)
