Michael - You're fired!

Donnie - whatever...

Jason - So you finally took my advice and bought a proper family car (Crown Vic)?

David - at least you have a vintage muscle car, but you're still a heathen :P

I think the Excursion makes a better family car, and they're a great deal these days.

We've got the Mustang, we've got the Challenger, we've got the Camaro, who's going to do an AMX? A watched the Montery Historics with the Trans Am crowd and it was awesome. I've seen Donahue's (or just the paint scheme, don't know if it is the real deal) Camaro at VIR at the HSR event. Seeing the rear break out a bit as its starts up the straight to the bridge is really cool.

The orange Parnelli Jones Mustang was done by Saleen last year. It was expensive.

and Dodge did a Challenger concept in the old green paint.

I'd like to see all three on track in the Trans Am series. But not the sillouette cars that they had recently. Real steel bodied gutted caged racers like the old Trans Am series.

This weekend it is a 17 car field with standing starts for both races on Saturday. The GT and American Iron cars have a rolling start behind us...so we have about a lap or two before they are upon us.

I would love to go this weekend. Unfortunatly, I have to get everything ready for a trip to wonderful Springfield, Il!!! I get to go out there and train our new employees in the ways of Landmark Aviation.

I would much rather be watching cars make lots of noise!!

BTW - why the different starts? Seems like that would be difficult to coordinate.

I am not sure of all the reasoning behind it. I know the veterns CMC guys love standing starts. They are show stoppers. But the GT guys do not like them because of the risks involved.

Since we are at Summit Point this weekend, the track does not lend itself well to multiple standing starts. If we did a standing behind the rolling start and an issue came up, the GT/AI cars would be screaming around turn 10 and have no place to go. With us out front, the pace car can control the GT/AI cars' start.

Because of VIR full course's size, they have a lot more options.

I really want to do a race with a standing start sometime. Damn, that looks fun.
