When I worked at PTA years ago I had to keep a fleet of Chevettes running. We also had a few rotary pickups too.

I learned to drive in a 76ish Chevette...and owned 4 rotary powered vehicles.

I owned an 84 Chevette once. It was the nicest car I ever owned that had no head liner, clutch, rear suspension, air conditioning, or radio.

How's that for an endorsement?!??!?!

Fortunately I wised up and bought my first Miata next. 8)

I took my drivers test in an 80's-ish Chevette. I got rear-ended at a stop light a month later - broke a tail light, which of course totalled it :) I do NOT miss that car.

Some guy I knew years and years ago was bragging about some type of engine swap he did in his Chevette. All I could think was that no matter how much money he spent on the car to make it nicer/faster, it still was a Chevette. Why use that as a starting point for a money pit?

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I delivered pizza in a chevette. Had a 24" screwdriver for a gear shifter and alghough I can't remember the reason, we ran it all night because it wouldn't start up if you turned it off. We replace it with a Yugo when yugo's were selling 2 for 1. Man, both of those cars suck. My Jeep CJ put out more heat than that Chevette and it didn't have doors!!!

The one time I thought this club was about to be struck down by The Almighty, was the meeting where I saw John Davison showing Bowie Sr. an old magazine article about a special rally edition Chevette, and Bowie actually seemed interested.

My first car was a 1985 Pontiac T-1000. I guess it was supposed to be a "nicer" Chevette.

T2 came out my senior year, so that was a running joke among me and my friends. I don't think that car had a 32nd of the technology the T1000 in the movie had...

I took drivers ed in a plymouth acclaim. Not very exiciting, it was not the 2.5l like the acclaim that did rallycross was, it was like a 1.6l or something..
i have driven all manner of cars in this world.. However that car was very underwhelming, at least it was cheap and disposable. My license test was in dads old white miata, that went real easy.I love my sentra, but i miss our old Z.

Wasn't the T-1000 the more luxurious of the two, while the Chevette was the sporty one?

My wife came into the marriage with a red '82 Chevette Scooter. Worst. Dowry. Ever.
