I need to tow my sons now crapped out car from Cary back to the south side of Garner. I can tow strap the car, but that's on the bottom of my list of getting that car back home. Can anyone help me get this car back to my house? Anyone have a truck and trailer/tow dolly I can rent or borrow? Be glad to pay you for you time or equipment useage.

I'm also pressed for time as Rex would like for me to move this as soon as possible, so I'm looking at tonight 3/18 or tomorrow 3/19 to move the car.

TIA

Tow strap without the "safety bar" = TICKET for unsafe towing.

Worth every penny. I've used mine at least three times in the last two years. If you don't have it Rodney you should get it. AAA FTW!

I prefer Allstate Motor Club, for they don't have as restrictive limits on distances. If I had been thinking more clearly, my "Platinum" package would tow me from VIR down to my house, so I could have used it when I grenaded my engine instead of using Matt Nicholson towing services  I still owe Matt big time ;) - AB

From my prior life with Allstate, I think they have limitation to a "repair facility". GMAC has a motorclub that says it will tow to the "nearest qualified repair facility regardless of the distance" I haven't seen that tested yet so I don't know exactly what that means. I think I will get one because I think I coould make a case that it needs to go to a MINI dealer. Don't ask me how much this is, the person that does these in my office is not in this afternoon. I will try to remember to post the price tomorrow.

Mini owners already have that. Mini Roadside will PU your Mini and take it to whichever Mini dealer you choose. Being my insurance man, so you know I've had ocassion to use that!

Allstate has never, ever, given me a problem with towing it directly to my house. I have even bought cars locally and had Allstate tow them to my house, just so I didn't have to bother someone to go get it. I've been with them for about 12 years now, and I use it now and then. Another benefit is that if you are in a car that breaks down, even if it's not yours, they will tow it under the policy. - AB

I agree on Allstate. They towed right to my driveway. The Vette got totaled out on I40 by Burlington. There was a Chevy dealer right there. I told them my house. Paid an extra $15 for going over the mileage range. And I rode with the tow guy to get home.

I've had Allstate for a very long time. Never gotten grief from them towing to my house or wherever I want. Good service too.

Well my hate for Allstate screwing me on a buy out of my business might blind me a bit! They also used to put so much pressure on selling those things I hated them. They used to have really, really good discounts on hotels though.

Gwen, That Roadside stuff ceases as soon as you are out of warrenty!! Mine is long out of warrenty, Vickie's and my Daughters are ok for a while

As does AAA. I don't know how widespread that Allstate's wrecker service goes, but I've been pleased with AAA. The drivers usually have good stories. Thankfully, I own a piece of Contour yardart and have gotten to appreciate this a couple of times.

That's good to know. Guess I'll be calling you when my warrenty expires.
