I drove a neighbor/freind to LRHS(leesville road high school) in the family ford taurus 4 door in the snow once or twice senior yr. it was thought the bus would be too dangerous to ride in icy conditions. therefore i drove her and me to school slipping and sliding as we slowly went.(radio on chatting the whole 9 yards, didnt hit a thing.) i had to kick ice out of my space when i got there, so i dropped her off there in the lot, before parking. and went about clearing my space. and then run over it once or twice, to make a ramp to get up over it.(it was not tall, just a few inches). This was done because, i was unable to clear all the embedded ice... therefore requiring me to break the ice up with my 2 ton sedan.,(who said fords arent good for something) funny thing was, since my car was kinda big.. i had to wait for other folks near me to leave, so i could pull out cockeyed, and get over the big humps that i could not break all the way with my car pulling in, ( it only crushed down in one direction)so that week or two was amusing for me, i had NEWLY learned how to drive, and here i am shuttling neighbors to school in a 2 ton fwd american sedan.
you wanna know the kicker: her family moved up from miami florida to get away from the heat and humidity the year of the two feet of snow. I reckon they accomplished that goal didnt they.
