As of this week I am officially retired from operating a jewelry store, and Donna has started her new career.
Donna is now on the sales staff at Rick Hendrick Pontiac/Buick/GMC as their high performance vehicle specialist. Rick Hendrick Auto Sales is the largest network of privately owned dealerships in the country, representing every major and many minor brands, so if you are in the market for any new or used car or truck, stop by and see her, even if it isn't a P B or G, and she can get you to the right person that understands our "special needs" at any Hendrick dealership. You will also be helping her by letting her enter your name into her contact database, even if you are "just looking" (or want to help her out ;) ). The data base is her's alone, so it will not result in a bunch of unwanted sales calls or emails, but she gets credit for the number of entries in it.
I will still be making the occasional piece of jewelry and selling gems and pearls on the internet, but I will also be taking time to do some of the projects and special interests I have put off way too long. Six days in the hospital for congestive heart failure has a way of rearranging life's priorities. I am well on the road to recovery now, but I finally found out why I would get so exhausted from the lightest of effort (such as walking course, changing tires or being the starter or grid worker at an event) all last year. Even changing shoes or getting out of a folding chair made me sweat and have to catch my breath. Heart issues don't always produce pain!
Good news is that I have just received a new larger vinyl cutter that will allow me to offer larger car and trailer graphics!

Chuck and Donna, good luck with your new ventures, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Congrats on the retirement Chuck. I know this isn't the way you wanted it to happen, but the rest will do you good.

Good luck with the new job Donna! I'll come see you when the new Camaro comes out!!!!

Glad to hear you are doing better Chuck. It is nice to know we have a contact at Hendrick. I could have used her a few weeks back. Went over to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet to look at a new 2500HD. One of the worse buying ordeals. Finally walked out after about 90 minutes pretty happy with my current truck :D

Congrats on everything Chuck and Donna! Sad way to have to retire, but at least the rest is well worth it.

P.S. Waiting on pricing there Chuck. Especially since you have all this time now.

Chuck, its a tough way to get to retire but it beats the alturnative that you were facing, btdt. Count your blessings for what you have and enjoy the retirement, I do, and you will too.

Thanks everyone! The heart failure (any weakening or pumping malfunction of the heart is refered to as heart failure) was caused by something called atrial fibrillation. The first chamber of my heart was pulsating instead of beating, not filling the second chamber with fresh blood between it's beats. This caused the heart to pump at a very high rate (135 when I went in) to supply enough oxygenated blood and only 20% efficiency. This all resulted in enlargement and weakening of the heart. They gave me meds and O2 for a few days to slow the heart down, then did a defibrillation under anesthetic (gave it a jump start to put it back in rhythm. "CLEAR!"). Once that was done I felt 1000% better! I feel better than I have in a couple years and have been cleared for most normal activities. The surprising thing was I had no idea what was wrong, I had no pain, don't have a cholesterol problem, don't smoke etc. I simply couldn't do anything without trouble catching my breath. The day I went in I was winded for several minutes just walking into the emergency room from the curb. I thought I had a bad case of pneumonia or something.

Donna finished her training and was put on the floor yesterday, and promptly sold her first car!

Jim, go see Donna, they have some great deals on GMC trucks like 5 year 0% financing that make them a better deal than the Chevy, and you know she'll treat you right.
Cosby, will get back to you today.
Closing up and moving an entire store is a MAJOR project especially doing most of it myself while Donna is working. I won't get to slow down much for at least a couple months. The retirement was in the works even before I went into the hospital.

Chuck, good for you catching a heart condition before it became something altogether more serious! Not that it's not serious as it stands, of course. I've got congestive heart failure in my family, and at the ripe old age of 34, I'm on two different blood pressure medications. It's a large club!

Hope to see you guys out and about this year in the Solstice.
