So there I was, driving along Hwy 55 east of Apex last weekend when this giant shopping cart nearly blows me off the road! OK, he didn't really go by me that fast but he was definitely moving along much quicker than I was. Maybe there was a BIG sale that the local grocery store? I really don't know...

Anyway, I managed to take a crappy picture with my cell phone without crashing the car and I thought some people might find it interesting. I don't know if this is the same cart that they run at Bristol Motorspeedway (the one John Boy and Billy almost killed themselves in a few year back) and I didn't have time to track the guy down to ask him.

All I know is that is had some sort of mean-looking V8 powering it and it must have been nearly 15' tall. I always manage to see strange stuff along the highway and this time I managed to take a picture.

One made a cameo at halftime at a Rollergirls match we went to. It is loud. Especially in Dorton.

That's cool. The thing looked to be too well engineered to be a backyard project by some random person so that makes sense.

David, Rollergirl match? Didn't that go out in the 70's? Or was it the 80's? They still do that? Or is this something else entirely?

Man, looked right over that one. I thought I heard you talking about a FS or DS cars at different times last year. I looked past the obvious... the car you have for sale. Goodluck with the sale. (although it looks slower than a grocery cart!) :P j/k
