Contestants are needed to film a pilot episode of “MODS” to be filmed in Wilmington, NC and broadcast on a major cable network. The show will take place in a local speed shop and is based on a competition between two teams of 3 contestants (6 contestants total) each led by a shop technician. Both teams will compete to build the “best” sports car. For this season one team will receive a Nissan 350Z and the other a Ford Mustang to build with parts chosen by viewers via the official MODS web site. (The mods will include forced induction, brakes, suspension, exhaust, computer/electronics, etc.)

For the pilot episode, since the website has not yet been launched, forced induction systems (manufacturer to be determined) for both the Mustang and 350Z will be added. Contestants will be awarded points and at the end of the series the team member with the most points on the winning team will win the car. (A car will not be given away in the pilot, however the winning contestant will receive a five thousand dollar prize and the opportunity to appear on the actual TV series.) At the end of the series, a duplicate of the winning car will be built (remember the winning contestant took the original one) and both the 350Z and Mustang will be given away at NOPI in Atlanta Georgia.

Dv3 Productions, in partnership with Cape Fear Productions, is looking for people local to the Wilmington area that are enthusiastic about cars. You do not need to have a technical knowledge of cars or experience working on them. All you need is a passion for automotive performance and the desire to be on TV.

If you are interested, send an e-mail to heather@dv3productions.com explaining why you should be chosen to be on the MODS TV series.

Visit http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20080110/COLUMNIST31/801100338 to read the article that appeared in the Wilmington Star Newspaper.

I think David's ultima would be killer on this show.

I'll be at that shop on the 26th for a tech inspection...

George Taylor (owner) and his two sons are pretty big Z guys (love the forced induction) and they are close friends with Seaboard Industrial (one of our track sponsors.) He has a very ambitious plan for National Speed, as the name implies, on a National level.

They want me at 2:10pm on Thursday. *shrug* I've got an email in asking about the production schedule to make sure I could even do it, though.
