Wow. That turned out really nice Vincent (especially the paint).
Was it tough to heat & bend the ABS without snapping it?
Thanks Matt. The paint was the easy part. Who knew truck bedliner spray was so user friendly to texture a dash? The ABS is very easy to bend and shape. I built this four gauge pod a few weeks back using only ABS epoxy and a heat gun.

Agreed with what Bret said. Slower curing bondo will give you more time to form it like you want and cause much less required sanding. You can go so thin on the hardener that it never sets, but there is a happy medium where you get a couple minutes before it gets too gooey.
Live and learn. This was my very first attempt using Bondo. On my next project I’ll use less hardner to try and get more working time.

Do you think the hot glue is fine, or would it have been worth it to epoxy that part, too? Or maybe Epoxy some on top of the hot glue? My fear is things moving enough to possibly crack the bondo, or at least the joints between the bondo and the ABS.
I’ll have to say that I don’t *know* about any of this. FYI, epoxy is harder to work with that the Bondo! The hot glue method was used on several of the projects I found on the web so I decided to try it. It’s very easy to work with too. The portion of the bezel (and how it mounts in the car) is very rigid so I don’t *think* it will crack. Only time will tell though.
